Job Summary
The Solution Architect / Enterprise Architect at Letshego Bank Namibia is responsible for designing, governing, and evolving the bank’s enterprise technology architecture across infrastructure, applications, data, digital, and cloud domains. This role bridges business strategy and technology execution by defining architectural standards, solution blueprints, and technology roadmaps. The architect ensures that all technology investments are fit-for-purpose, scalable, secure, and compliant with regulatory and operational requirements. The role provides technical leadership in evaluating new technologies, reviewing project architectures, and establishing governance frameworks that maintain architectural integrity across the T&O function.
Job Details
- Enterprise Architecture Design & Governance: Define and maintain the enterprise architecture across business, application, data, technology, and security domains using TOGAF or equivalent, aligned to the Connect 2030 strategy.
- Solution Architecture & Design Reviews: Lead the design of new technology solutions, review project architectures for standards compliance, and produce solution blueprints, integration patterns, and deployment architectures.
- Technology Roadmap Management: Develop, maintain, and communicate the bank’s technology roadmap, identifying capability gaps, modernization opportunities, and phased investment priorities.
- Cloud Architecture & Strategy: Design and govern cloud adoption architecture across Azure/M365 and hybrid environments, including security controls, governance frameworks, and cost optimization models.
- Application & Integration Architecture: Define integration standards, API governance frameworks, and middleware patterns to ensure seamless interoperability between core banking, digital channels, and payment systems.
- Data Architecture: Collaborate with the Data Engineering function to design data platform architectures, governance frameworks, and analytics-ready data models aligned with regulatory reporting requirements.
- Security Architecture: Work with the IT Security team to embed security-by-design across all solution architectures, including Zero Trust, IAM, encryption standards, and data classification frameworks.
- Technology Evaluation & Innovation: Assess emerging technologies (AI/ML, automation, cloud-native platforms), conduct POC evaluations, and provide evidence-based recommendations for adoption.
- Architecture Governance & Standards: Establish and chair Architecture Review Boards (ARBs), enforce standards compliance, manage architectural debt, and maintain the enterprise architecture standards library.
- Project & Programme Architecture Support: Provide architecture leadership and guidance to project teams across the T&O portfolio, ensuring designs align with approved blueprints and regulatory requirements.
- Vendor & Platform Assessment: Evaluate third-party technology platforms, conduct RFP technical reviews, assess vendor architectures, and provide recommendations during procurement processes.
- Stakeholder Engagement & Communication: Translate complex architectural concepts for executive, business, and technical audiences; present roadmaps, solution designs, and risk considerations at EXCO/CMC level.
- Documentation & Knowledge Management: Produce and maintain architecture artefacts including Architecture Decision Records (ADRs), solution designs, landscape maps, and reference architectures.
- Capacity & Scalability Planning: Advise on infrastructure capacity requirements, scalability design patterns, and technology investment sizing to support business growth objectives. Regulatory & Compliance Alignment: Ensure all architecture decisions comply with BoN directives, POPIA, PCI-DSS (where applicable), AML/CFT requirements, and internal governance policies.
Requirements
- Senior Secondary Certificate with at least 25 Points
- 5 to 8 years of relevant experience in enterprise or solution architecture, preferably within a banking or financial services environment
- TOGAF 9 or 10 certification (Foundation and Practitioner) strongly preferred
- Relevant certifications such as Microsoft Certified: Azure Solutions Architect Expert, AWS Certified Solutions Architect, or equivalent cloud architecture certification
- A NQF7 Certificate / Diploma / Degree or higher in Information Technology, Computer Science, or Engineering will be an added advantage
