Job Summary

The role is responsible for capturing, updating, validating, and correcting customer and compliance-related data within the organization’s systems to ensure accuracy, completeness, and regulatory compliance. The role supports data quality improvement initiatives, compliance monitoring, remediation projects, and regulatory reporting requirements. The incumbents will work closely with various departments to identify data discrepancies, resolve data issues, and maintain accurate records in line with internal policies and regulatory standards.

Job Details

Critical Deliverables /Core Accountabilities and Responsibilities

  • Capture, update, and maintain customer and compliance data accurately in relevant systems
  • Verify and validate information against source documents and internal requirements
  • Correct incomplete, inaccurate, or duplicated records as part of remediation processes
  • Perform regular quality checks to ensure data integrity and accuracy
  • Compliance Data Remediation
  • Support ongoing compliance remediation projects and data cleansing initiatives
  • Identify missing KYC, AML, FATCA, and customer due diligence information
  • Assist in resolving data discrepancies and non-compliant records
  • Escalate unresolved or high-risk data issues to management
  • Regulatory & Compliance Support
  • Ensure all data captured complies with internal policies and regulatory requirements
  • Maintain confidentiality and secure handling of sensitive customer information
  • Assist with audit preparation and compliance reviews
  • Support reporting requirements by providing accurate and updated information
  • Maintain organized electronic and physical records
  • Ensure proper filing and document retention in accordance with company policies
  • Retrieve and update records when required by compliance or audit teams
  • Liaise with internal departments to obtain missing or corrected information
  • Provide support to Compliance Officers during remediation and monitoring activities
  • Assist customers or staff with data correction processes where necessary

Requirements

Required Knowledge & Skills

 

  • Grade 12 / Matric certificate 
  • Diploma in Business Administration, Information Management, Banking Compliance, Law, Business Analytics, Statistics or related
  • Experience in data capturing, administration, compliance support, or records management is advantageous
  • Experience in financial services, banking, or microfinance environment preferred is advantageous 
  • Familiarity with KYC, AML, and customer onboarding processes is advantageous

Certifications

Certified Anti-Money Laundering Specialist (CAMS) or ICA Certificate in AML/KYC is advantageous.
