Critical Deliverables/Core Accountabilities & Responsibilities
- Generate revenue from Commercial Banking, Business Banking and Retail funding activities within defined markets through defined products or solutions.
- Manage the money market trading budget by exceeding laid down Net Interest Income (NII), Non-Interest Revenue (NIR) and funding volume targets.
- Ensure implementation of ALCO strategies, while optimising the Net Interest Margin (NIM) for Corporate, Business Banking and Retail on Wholesale / Retail products covering all assets and liabilities to generate funding at the desired rate and duration.
- Protect the integrity of the bank's interest rate curve and Net Interest Margin (NIM) by monitoring pricing of transactions.
- Act as a subject matter expert by ensuring that a proportion of bank funding targets/requirements for the desk are met, and targeted liquidity is optimally sourced at optimal prices.
- Manage defined risks on the desk by ensuring all controls are in place and carried out timeously and diligently, and that relevant limits are in place for all staff.

Requirements
Qualifications & Experience required of Job Holder
- Grade 12, (25 points and above).
- B. Com Degree; RPE; FAI Relevant Compliance Certification (CA/ACCA/ACA or similar professional qualification essential).
- Eight (8) years’ general Banking experience of at least four (4) years in Treasury, with specific experience in funding and liquidity.
- Hands-on experience and knowledge in treasury activities and products.
- Broad understanding of interest rate risks and balance sheet management.
- Knowledge of balance sheet management, microfinance products, modelling and financial systems.
- Knowledge of the Treasury framework.
- Basel 3 requirements effective end 2022.
- New funding products.
- Treasury system testing and implementation.
- Knowledge of financial products and regulatory requirements related to liquidity risk Management / Capital Management.
- Ability to think strategically and understand implications of interest rate risk management to firm-wide balance sheet and capital management.
