Job Summary
Purpose of the Job: To evaluate and review the effectiveness of risk management, control, and governance processes. This position is responsible for planning, executing, and reporting on operational, financial, compliance, and IT audits. The role also involves mentoring junior auditors and advising management on best practices to enhance internal controls and regulatory compliance.

Critical Deliverables /Core Accountabilities and Responsibilities:
1) Thorough audit planning and design of the risk-based internal audit plan to meet Board Audit and Risk Committee’s expectations.
2) Conduct internal audits to provide independent and objective assurance to Senior Management and Board Audit and Risk Committee.
3) Ensure audits are conducted in accordance with IIA standards, Letshego audit methodology and regulatory requirements.
4) Execute internal audits as per the risk-based internal audit plan to ensure all designated deadlines for audits are met.
5) Audit all Departments and Branch processes according to audit guidelines as approved by the Board.
6) Prepare clear, concise, and well-documented audit reports with actionable recommendations.
7) Present audit findings to senior management and follow up on the implementation of corrective actions.
8) Assist with special reviews as needed and forensic investigations in cases of theft, fraud and money laundering to determine whether correct procedures were followed.
9) Stay updated on emerging risks, regulatory changes and industry trends to review and identify additional risks and bring these to the attention of line management.
10) Monitor compliance with internal policies, external regulations, and industry best practices.
11) Provide advisory support to management to improve processes and procedures (e.g. customer service, risk exposures, loss potential, transactional anomalies, etc.) and facilitate discussions of practical ways to manage or avoid them to improve overall efficiencies.
12) Conduct non-routine audits to ensure the bank and its subsidiaries comply with regulatory authorities.
13) Manage and oversee team performance through performance planning, coaching and performance appraisals.
Benefits
Required Qualifications, Knowledge and Skills:
1) Grade 12, 25 points.
2) Bachelor of Accounting or BCom Degree in Internal Auditing.
3) Professional Certification such as CIA / CISA / CA / ACCA or equivalent.
4) At least 5 years continuous relevant experience, preferably in a financial institution.
5) Strong understanding of banking operations, credit risk, financial reporting, and regulatory compliance
