Job Summary
Purpose of the Job: To lead the strategic design, implementation, and maintenance of automation solutions that enhance operational efficiency and support Letshego Namibia’s digital transformation agenda. This role is responsible for delivering automation outcomes using a structured toolkit that includes robotic process automation, workflow automation, and other enabling technologies. The Automation Specialist will ensure solutions are reliable, secure, and embedded into core business operations across both banking and microfinance entities.

Core Accountabilities and Responsibilities
- Maintain and enhance deployed automation solutions, ensuring they remain operational and aligned to evolving business needs.
- Lead the transition of automation solutions from legacy platforms to current toolsets, ensuring continuity, minimal business disruption, and alignment with enterprise architecture standards.
- Monitor integration points between automation workflows and core systems, assisting in early detection of failures or disruptions in service orchestration environments.
- Support development teams by coordinating integration workflows, assisting in configuration and validation of APIs, and maintaining up-to-date records of service connections used in automation processes.
- Partner with business units to assess manual processes and identify opportunities for automation with clear business value.
- Design, develop, and implement automation workflows that comply with defined technical and governance standards.
- Document end-to-end automation logic, including exception handling, escalation protocols, and recovery steps.
- Monitor performance of automation deployments and implement updates or optimizations based on business feedback or system performance.
- Collaborate with IT, Operations, and Risk teams to ensure automation solutions are secure, compliant, and well-integrated into broader systems.
- Maintain a structured inventory of automations, including versioning, scheduling, dependencies, and exception logs.
- Support the transition and upgrade of legacy bots or scripts onto modern, scalable platforms aligned with enterprise
Requirements
Knowledge and Skills Required of the Job Holder:
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Engineering, or a related field.
- Minimum 3 years of experience in automation development or systems integration.
- Demonstrated experience delivering and supporting production-grade automation solutions.
- Exposure to API-based integrations and the ability to support automation workflows that interface with core systems.
- Experience in coordinating with cross-functional teams including IT, Operations, and Development.
- Exposure to process re-engineering or continuous improvement methodologies preferred.
- Experience supporting integration workflows or middleware configurations
- Certifications or training in project management (Agile, PMP) or automation platforms.
- Exposure to scripting languages such as Python or Java for bot logic or API handling.
- Familiarity with machine learning or AI tools that support intelligent automation use cases.
- Strong understanding of automation architecture, exception handling, and integration design.
- Ability to document and manage workflows, recovery procedures, and operational controls.
- Knowledge of compliance, access management, and data security controls relevant to automation.
- Capacity to work across platforms and manage transitions from legacy automation solutions.
- Excellent analytical, communication, and problem-solving skills, particularly in complex operational environments.
- Ability to manage delivery timelines and interact with stakeholders at multiple levels.
