Job Summary
The Wealth Manager is responsible for building, leading, and scaling a high-performing retail and fixed deposit sales team across Nigeria. This role owns the sales strategy and execution for retail and fixed deposit customer acquisition nationwide, focusing on mobilizing high-value deposits and growing relationships with High Network Individuals/Institutions (HNIs).
Job Details
Key Accountabilities:
- Team Leadership: Recruit, train, and manage in-house and field sales teams to deliver consistent results.
- Portfolio Growth: Mobilize and manage high-value deposits (Savings, Current, Fixed Deposit, Call Accounts) and grow relationships with HNIs in line with annual targets.
- Strategy Execution: Own the sales strategy for retail customer acquisition and build scalable sales processes around the bank’s deposit offerings.
- Client Management: Serve as the single point of contact for high-value clients, including HNIs, SMEs, NGOs, and corporate bodies.
- Advisory & Structuring: Structure deposit solutions aligned with client cash-flow cycles, provide advice on yield optimization, and staggered maturity.
- Market Intelligence: Conduct extensive market research to identify trends and competitor information, recommending pricing and product adjustments.
- Risk & Compliance: Ensure strict adherence to CBN KYC/AML/CFT regulations and internal deposit concentration limits.
- Performance Monitoring: Define sales targets, monitor performance, and provide regular reporting on pipeline health to the HSD.
Thinking Requirements and Working Complexity:
- Strong capability to lead and mentor sales team, DSA and support staff.
- Ability to analyze financial data and market trends to provide investment recommendations.
- Strategic mindset to identify and pursue new business opportunities to expand the client base.
- Capacity to manage risks associated with investment strategies and client portfolios.
- Collaborative approach to work with Operations, Treasury, and Risk teams for sustainable sales practices.
Knowledge and Experience Required of Job Holder:
- Education: Bachelor’s Degree in a related field.
- Experience: Minimum of 8 years’ experience in sales or relationship management within financial services, with at least 2 years in a managerial role.
- Specialized Knowledge: Deep awareness of marketplace products, rates, and changes to capitalize on competitive opportunities.
- Product Knowledge: Familiarity with MFB products such as Target Savings, Fixed deposits and CASA
- Regulatory Competence: Strong understanding of banking regulations and risk management practices.
